Invite collaborators
Add people to a workspace and choose what they can do.
Work in progress
Workspaces support collaborators with roles you assign and revoke. Someone only gets access once they have accepted the invitation, and access ends as soon as you revoke it.
How many collaborators you can add depends on the workspace owner's plan, whoever sends the invitation. Invitations that are still waiting count too. See Plans and storage.
Invite someone
Only the workspace owner and admins can invite.
Open the collaborators list
Open the workspace, then Settings, Collaborators, and choose Add collaborator.
Enter their email and a role
Type the person's email address (or the name of someone you already work with), and choose an Access level. See Workspaces and roles for which role to give. You cannot invite yourself.
Send the invitation
Choose Send invite. The person appears in the list marked Invite pending until they answer. If the email went astray, use the resend action on their row.
What the person receives
They receive an email with a link to the invitation, and someone who already has an account also sees it in the app's notifications. The link opens a page where they choose Accept or Reject. They must be signed in with the same email address you invited; someone without an account signs up with that address first.
An invitation is valid for 7 days. After that, send a new one.
Change a role or remove someone
On Settings, Collaborators:
- change a person's role with the menu beside their name. The change applies straight away;
- remove a person with the bin button. Their access ends at once.
To give someone a role on one project only, see Workspaces and roles.
Team plan seats
On the Team plan you pay for a number of seats. The account owner manages them under General settings, Account, Subscription, with Manage seat assignments.
- Sending an invitation does not use a seat by itself. You assign a seat under Manage seat assignments.
- A seat is taken from the moment it is assigned, while the person is still invited, and stays taken while they are active.
- Revoking a seat frees it for someone else.
- You cannot lower the number of seats below the number in use; revoke seats first.
What a seat changes for the person who holds it: if they are on a plan other than Team, their storage limit can be raised by the seat. A seat does not add AI credits: a Team's AI credits come from the owner's pool.
