Library standards
Set naming and identity-data rules once and check every family against them.
Work in progress
Set your Revit naming convention and identity-data rules once. Every family is then checked against them and comes back with a suggested name and matching identity data. You can apply the suggestions across the whole library in a few clicks.

Set up a workspace's standards
Workspace standards are set by the workspace owner or an admin, in the workspace's Settings. They apply to everything uploaded into the workspace, from the web and from Revit. Your personal library has the same settings under Family settings.
Agree the naming convention
Open Settings, Naming convention. Set the filename rules (which characters are allowed) and build the naming pattern from parts, or start from a ready-made convention with Apply convention. See Filename rules, Naming pattern and Naming conventions.
Set the file rules
Open Settings, File rules to limit size, Revit category and Revit version. See File rules.
Choose the identity data you require
Under Settings, Identity data, pick the classification Systems your office uses and map each identity field to one in Identity fields. See Classification systems and Fields mapping.
Check the library
Open Settings, Verify identity data. It shows two scores for the families already in the workspace: how complete their identity data is, and how well they follow the file rules, with a list of what to fix. See Verify identity data and Verify file rules.
Fix names in bulk
From the file rules review, auto-suggest proposes a compliant name for each family that breaks the naming rules. Suggestions are grouped by the kind of change, so you can check one group and apply it to many families at once with Apply changes. Edit or drop any suggestion first. Undo job puts the names back, and Rename history in the workspace settings records every rename.
How standards affect uploads from Revit
When someone publishes from Revit into the workspace, the same rules are checked twice: by the add-in before the upload, and again by the server when the upload completes. A family that breaks them is refused, with the reason, so it never reaches the approval queue. See Publish families from Revit.
